THUNDER.AND RAIN
With the holiday season near at hand Wellington is. still awaiting its summer atmosphere. Unsettled weather lias interfered considerably with outdoor events, and the latest visitation was a thunderstorm last night. There was heavy rain in. some parts. At Island Bay one result was the cancellation of the one-day tournament for bowlers, who have already had an overdose of disappointments this season. The Island Bay green was still carrying surface water this morning.
