LATE FROST FEARED
. Fruitgrowers and market gardeners in'the-Hastings- district are having an anxious time at present, for they fear a late frost. Oil firepots have made their appearance in many orchards, and also among the tomato plantations. Many market gardeners are itiaking use of old sacks for covering over potatoes and pumpkins. It is feared tfrat the main sufferers if a frost occurs will be those .who have extensive plantings of beans. Reports from Central Otago say that much damage has been done to fruit crops there by frost. The weather in Otago generally has been most unseasonable, and a few days ago there was a foot of snow-on the_ ground in some parts. - MR. CURTIN'S HEALTH Ree. 1 p.m. MELBOURNE.
