_. LONDON, December 2. The German rocket-propelled Messerschmitt 1638, or "Flying Firework," is capable of well over 500 miles an hour,, according to Press Association reports from the front. The giveri speed is as high as 600 miles an hour. The jet-propelled Messerschitt 262 A is capable of 450.t0 500 miles an hour. However, the range, of these highspeed German,planes is very limited. The rocket-plane .can fly for only a few minutes under power, but can glide for some:distance. It has a very high-rate of climb, and is used as a quick interceptor. The jet-plane is employed as a fighter-bomber for ground, attack, and has four 30 mm guns in its nose.
