TANK RECOVERY VEHICLES
RUGBY, December 2,
It is revealed that one of the most important, developments in the recovery of tank casualties was the advent «of. the armoured recovery vehicle (A.R.V.), designed in Britain and first produced by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Two of the existing types of A.R.V. are based on the Sherman and Churchill tanks respectively. The vehicles are provided with a wide range of special recovery equipment, including a jib crane for lifting engines and other heavy parts.
