ALLIES' BATTLE OF SUPPLIES
LONDON, October 3. American stategic bombers are participating in the terrific battle of supplies which is at present in progress in France, Belgium, and Holland. Their bomb-bays are carrying overcoats and uniforms for thousands of shivering American troops, says an Associated Press correspond_nt at the Allied supreme headquarters.
General Eisenhower's biggest problem at preserit is not Germany's strength but the speedy distribution of supplies to contend with the approaching winter. It is apparent, in spite of the Allied power, that the supreme command is preparing for a long winter campaign. The rains, which have come early, have robbed the Allies of one of their bigegst assets —their mobility and the daily overwhelming air support.
