LUNCHEON PARTY

Over £166 was raised by the Victoria League during its recent week at the Patriotic Shop. In announcing this at yesterday's luncheon, Mrs. .J. A. Doctor, president, moved a vote of thanks to the convener, Mrs. L. F. Hunt. In addition to this- sum, the league's own shop day had realised £72 clear. In the next few weeks^ £100 would, be sent to the- Victoria League, London. .

Letters from servicemen, T' W. Tomlinson and Captain R..G. Duncan, of Wellington, expressing appreciation of league parcels, were read by the president, and also extracts from the London magazine, describing a flyingbomb incident and the recent visit of the Duke of Gloucester to the London hostel, Hopkinson House.
