TROPHY PRESENTED
P.A. HASTINGS, Sept. 18. Widespread interest was taken in the presentation on Saturday of Lord Bledisloe's trophy, the Ahuwhenua Cup, to Bunny Otene, winner of the Maori Land Development Scheme competition. The presentation was made by the Native Minister (Mr. Mason). Also present were Messrs. T. Omana, M.P., and E. L. Cullen, M.P., the Bishop of Aotearoa, Chief Judge Shepperd, Judge Harvey* and representatives of all the principal local bodies and municipalities, as well as a number of departmental officers. A special tribute was paid to Mrs. Otene who carried on the farm during her husband's service in the Armed Forces.
