UNRRA IN PACIFIC
CANBERRA, September 18.
The part the Commonwealth will play in relieving distress in the islands north and north-west of Australia as the liberating Allied forces press onward is being discussed here. The talks opened with the arrival of the European deputy director-general of UNRRA, Mr. Lithgow Osborne, and his assistant,. Mr. Rolf Nugent.
Messrs. Osborne and Nugent will visit New Zealand upon completion of the Australian talks.
