MR. C. R. P. ARMSTRONG

The death occurred at Masterton on Saturday, after, a brief illness, of Mr C. R. P Armstrong, a well-known farmer of the Maungaru district,'near Masterton. Mr. Armstrong, the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Armstrong, was born in Carterton 68 years ago.

He was educated" at the Carterton Public School, and after some years in business went into partnership with his brother, Mr. W. I. Armstrong, in a farm at Maungaru, where he remained for 40 years. As a young man Mr. Armstrong and his brothers were well-known footballers in the Wairarapa district, and in later life he became well known throughout the Dominion as a breeder of cocker spaniels.

He is survived by two brothers, Mr ™oftV£ An"nstrong (Dannevirke) and Mr. W. I. Armstrong (Maungaru), and four sisters, Mrs. Dampney (Tiakitahuna, Palmerston North) and Misses Frances, Connie, and Reta Armstrong (Wellington). His* eldest sister, Mrs Robert Darroch, died in 1921 and his youngest brother, Hugh, in 1942
