THE BLEDISLOE CUP
When play ceased in the telegraphic match between the Auckland and Wellington chess clubs seven games were left incomplete. In the subsequent negotiations the two captains agreed to a win for J. D. Steele Wellington) at ?£, *5' making the scores Wellington ,10$,. Auckland 3£. The remaining 6 games are to be adjudicated on in Chnstchurch, but thes-j awards cannot affect the result of the match. The inter-island final for the Bledisloe Cup which is to commence at 6.15 p.m. on Saturday evening, will be between the Canterbury and Wellington clubs. The local captain, R. G. Wade, has arranged to be in Christchurch, and will be able to play his game at Board 1 over the board. . The Bledisloe Cup is at present held by the Canterbury Chess Club, which defeated the Auckland club when this competition was last held five years ago.
