AMERICAN PLANS

INTERNATIONAL AIR ROUTES WASHINGTON. June 14. The CiviL Aeronautics Board announced that 20anternational air routes have been tentatively selected as desirable for post-war operations by the United. States. The chairman, Mr. Welch Pogue, said that foreign Governments had not been consulted before the plan was prepared. He added that the acquisition of.foreign landing rights is expected generally to be achieved by means of inter-Govern-mental negotiation. One route suggested was San Fran-cisco-Los Angeles-Honolulu-Canton Is-land-Suva-Noumea, and then either to Auckland or Sydney. Mr.' Pogue said the new plan would give a total of 440,000 miles of airlines under American control. He stressed the point that the Aeronautics Board could not wait longer for clarification of national policy regarding post-war foreign operations, and was forced to proceed under the present law if it was to be ready with approved lines at the end of the war.
