BALL BEARINGS FIRM
WASHINGTON, May 17. After a long investigation of American 'S.K.F. Industries, undertaken to determine the ownership and control of the parent Swedish company, United States Government representatives have reported that all S.K.F. Industries production contributes vitally to the war effort, They added that the investigation should not be interpreted as a reflection on either the management or the employees of S.K.F., which had achieved excellent production records. The United States Army Chief of Staff, General G. C. Marshall, recently requested American civilian war agencies to make a sweeping investigation into S.K.F. Industries, of Philadelphia, an American subsidiary of the Swedish S,K.F; ball-bearing plant, with a view to seizing the company in the event of evidence being found of German control of what ,is an ostensibly Swedish, enterprise.
