THE DAY IN FRANCE
HOUR'S GENERAL STRIKE
Rec. 11.1 D a.m. WASHINGTON, May 1. The French delegation at Washington reported that the Committee of Resistance in France called for an hour's general strike from ll a.m. to noon today. The committee issued a proclamation stating: "Patriots, let this first of May—the last May Day to be celebrated in the humiliation of occupation—be marked by vigorous and united action."
