CARE OF LAND GIRLS
MRS. DREAVER'S INSPECTION During a visit of inspection of land girls in North Auckland Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, honorary liaison officer, addressed an audience in Whangarei.
In an interview she said that she was pleased to find how 'well the land girls in the Whangarei and Dargaville districts were being accommodated on the farms. In the Dargaville area the 36 land girls had formed a club of their own and this was fulfilling a useful social purpose. Mrs. Dreaver said steps would be taken to accelerate the provision of uniforms and other equipment for the girls, and an assurance had been given by the Directs, of National Service that a pair of gumboots would be made available for every land girl working on a dairy farm.
