USE OF AIR MASTERY "Mastery of the air is a pre-requisite to victory," declared Air Commodore A de T. Neville, 0.8. E., Vice-Chief of the Air Force, in mentioning in a recruit-campaigning speech yesterday that air superiority had become the dominant factor in war. "Great Britain and the United States are now devoting the great part of their overwhelming industrial strength to Jthe production of new types of aircraft. It is intended to make the maximum use of the air weapon in the final drive to Vl"This," he added, "will shorten the war and for us it will result in very considerable savings of man-power and, more important still, 1 a great saving of human life. You may have already noticed in the ■ war news that there is a steafiy reduction in losses' through the Allied Air Forces in both the European and Pacific theatres of war, a reduction which, in spite ot more intensive flying, is definitely related to the increased Allied air superiority. .
