CEREMONY - ROTORUA
A wedding of interest took place recently at St. Luke's Church, Rotorua, when Miss Barbara Melvin Holland, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Holland, of Carnot Street. Rotorua, was married to Sergeant Robert Ross Nairn (returned from overseas), youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Nairn, of Auckland. The bride's sister. Miss Ruth Holland, was bridesmaid, and Flight Lieutenant M. Nairn, the bridegroom's brother, was best man. Before her marriage the bride was in charge of the Red Cross. detachment of voluntary aids in Rotorua. Her father was formerly a Judge, of the Native Land Court, and is well known throughout New Zealand, for his work in the Native Department.
Second-Lieutenant John Pavey, N.Z.A., and Mrs. Pavey, who were married in Pretoria six weeks ago, arrived in Christchurch on Wednesday morning. They will stay with Mrs. Pavey's parents, Sir Hugh and Lady Acland, Chippenham, Brown's Road. Mrs. L. M. Day and Mrs. A. Cooksley, of Palmerston North, are spending a few days in Wellington and are staying at the Grand 'Hotel.
