LIBERIA AT WAR WITH AXIS
LONDON, January 27. j The Republic of Liberia, on the West: African coast, has declared war on Germany and Japan. Liberia lies between Sierra Leone and the French Ivory Coast. One of its main products is rubber. In 1942 the Liberian Government made a " military alliance with the United States. America assumed responsibility for defending the Republic and received the right to have airfields there. President Roosevelt * visited Liberia in January last year on his way home from Casablanca.
