Two news items published yesterday about New Zealand Spitfire pilots who have been operating in the Coastal Air Force in Italy and over the Adriatic mentioned Flight Lieutenant Edward Schrader. His full name is Warren Edward, and he is a son of Mrs. L. Schrader, of Wellington, and a brother of the late Wing Commander Schrader, whose brilliant air career was cut short by a fatal accident. Thursday, the present day, was fixed as the statutory half-holiday in the county by a special meeting today of the Makara County Council.
