PIRIE STREET FIRE
Spirits used for the treatment for borer at a two-storey house owned and occupied by Miss E. E. Crispin, 67 Pirie Street, were ignited by a naked flame and led to a call being made to the Central Fire Station at 12.50 p.m. today. The brigade used bucket pumps to extinguish the fire, which caused damage to the hall, the staircase, and the upstairs hallway.. ;
