SERVICEMEN TO BENEFIT

Wellington patriotic funds benefited to the extent of £18 9s 9d when the pupils of Miss D. C. Heath, Seatoun, gave afternoon and evening pianoforte recitals at the Presbyterian Sunday School Hall recently. The whole of the door takings and money from the sale of sweets during the interval were hano>:d to Mr. Hayden, secretary of the patriotic committee, by Miss Heath, with the request that it be used in the sending of parcels to soldiers overseas. The recital was most enjoyable, and Mr. Hayden congratulated Miss Heath and her pupils on their splendid effort in a very worthy cause. The Rev. W. H. Walton presented the prizes and further eulogised the effort.
