COMING CONFERENCE
OFFICIAL RUSSIAN COMMENT Rec. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 13. Making the first official Russian comment on the forthcoming three-Power conference, "Pravda" says: "Some chatterboxes are trying to stir up trouble by making absurd assumptions. They even say that the problem of Russian frontiers and the status of the Baltic States will be discussed. It is known to everyone that the frontiers j of Russia cannot be subjects for discussion any more than the frontiers of America and the status of California. The problem of primary importance is swift unification of the common efforts to lessen the duration of the war." A correspondent says that despite its bluntness, the "Pravda" article is by no means unfriendly of unconstructive, and he quotes passages from the article referring to the wide economic- help which Britain and America are giving to the Allied countries, and the coordination of action achieved during the armistice negotiations in Italy. These and other matters, says "Pravda," are examples of the developing co-operation of the Allied coun- j tries.
