LIGHTNING KILLS COW
tf.C. AUCKLAND, This Day. During a violent electric storm over the Opotiki district lightning struck alongside the milking shed of Mr. G. E. Bennett, of Waioeka. A dairy cow which was standing alongside the shed was killed, and Mr. Bennett and his wife, who were working at the shed, suffered heavy shock from the concussion. Flames leaped from the switchboard near the motor, but apart from an element being burned out in the water heater iio other damage was done. '
