WEDDINGS
RICHARDS—LORIGAN.
More than 150 guests attended the wedding, which took place in Hastings on Saturday, August 28, of Rewa Joyce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Lorigan, of Hastings, and Roy Harold, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Richards, of Greytown. The bridegroom is a returned soldier who served three and a half years-.over-seas. St. Matthew's Church, where the ceremony was held, was decorated with white camellias and snowdrops. The Rev. W. T. Drake officiated and Mr. C. B. Spinney was at the organ.
An exquisite gown of Irish point lace in deep ivory was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. The gown was remodelled from one more than 100 years old inherited by the bride. A tulle veil, worn in halo style and caught with flowers similar to the bride's bouquet of cream and pale pink orchids, tulips, and freesias, cascaded in billowy folds to form a second train.
The bridesmaids, Misses Patricia Reid (Hastings) and Nesta Fletcher (Levin), wore gowns of powder blue georgette and caps of blue ruched net, and natural sprays of pink flowers toning with their bouquets.
Trooper Norman Lowe (Hastings) was best man, and Trooper A. Friend (Masterton) groomsman, both returned soldiers. The ushers were Sergeant Pilot Phil Reid and Mr. Dudley Richards. The bride and bridegroom will make their home in Masterton.
