FUNERAL OF MR. W. R. KING
The esteem in which the late Mr. W. R. King was held was shown by the representative attendance and the numerous floral tributes at the funeral today. Organisations represented included the Wellington Rugby Union, Poneke and Training College Rugby Football Clubs, Wellington Cricket Association Wellington Mercantile Cricket League management committee and Umpires' Association, E.P.S., Wellington Trades Council, Roseneath branch of the N.Z. Labour Party, Roseneath School Committee, Wellington Harbour Board Employees' Union, and National Broadcasting Service. The large number of wreaths included one from the Prime Minister and Mrs. Fraser. The pall-bearers at St. Joseph's Church, Buckle Street, and at the graveside were representatives of the many interests with which the deceased was connected and also close friends.
