CLERICAL WORKERS' AWARD

A new award covering the employment of clerical workers has been issued by the Arbitration Court. Wage rates remain the same as previously, £5 10s for senior males and £3 5s for senior females, plus the Court's two cost-of-living bonuses. The award provides for the daily hours of work to be continuous except for regular meal intervals. The award embodies the agreement of the parties arrived at in conciliation council or during the hearing of the dispute, and a memorandum to it states that as the dispute was filed before December 15, 1942, the Court in making the award was not bound by the Economic Stabilisation Emergency Regulations.
