LONDON, September 15. Nearly 10,000 miners are involved in a Nottinghamshire coalfield strike resulting from the imprisonment of an 18-year-old pit lad who refused to work underground. A thousand miners in a Northumberland mine threaten to strike as a result of a court case against another youth who refused to work underground. Three thousand electrical workers in 'the Manchester district have struck, demanding another 3d an hour. There is. a grave risk of 12,000 others striking in sympathy.
