NEW YORK, September 15,
A vast invasion across the EnglishChannel was predicted by the Director of the Office of War Information, Mr. Elmer Davis, when addressing the New York Publishers' Association.
He warned that the Germans would probably engineer a "phony" revolution in Germany, put over by a sham opposition of Nazi or military leaders,, who. would willingly cut the throats of their associates if they could thereby save not only their own necks bait also the substance of German military or industrial power. The object of such a revolution, he said, would be a compromise peace which would leave Germany still strong among her shattered neighbours—a peace which would be only the beginning of German preparation for the next war. .
