PERSONAL NOTES
Miss M. G. Havelaar, the recentlyelected Dominion president of the National Council of Women, and Mrs. W Mackay, who has been appointed Dominion secretary, returned to Christchurch from Wellington on Saturday. A gift % £550 has been received by the Waikato Hospital Board from the trustees in the estate of Mrs. Alice Ethel Kirby, of Ngaruawahia, and will be spent on a machine to be used in the treatment of • rheumatism •at the Waikat9 Hospital, as a memorial to Mrs. Kirby. Mrs. W. J. Poison, M.P., slipped and tore the ligaments of her foot whilst at her home in Stratford last week. She will be confined to her bed for some time.
Mrs. J. P. Riordan, Auckland, is a visitor to Wellington and is staying at Ennismore, Boulcott Street.
