A Party Collection.
At a five o'clock party given in Kelburn recently for Mrs. Catherine Stewart a collection was taken for patriotic funds, and £4 was raised for gift parcels for servicemen overseas.
Dunedin's Fine Effort,
The sum of £2300 16s 5d was raised in the Dunedin district on Friday in response to the Red Cross Society's street day appeal. It is expected that when the returns of all the sub-centres are to hand the collection will equal that raised in the last appeal, namely £3200. The returns from the three Red Cross shops in the city amounted to more than £1000.
E.S.U. Buffet Luncheon.
The women members of the Eng-lish-speaking Union are reminded of the. buffet luncheon to be held on Friday at 12.30 p.m., when nursing sisters who have returned from service overseas will be the guests.
