FORTY-SEVEN FLIGHTS
(Special P.A. Correspondent.) Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON* September 13. Pilot Officer R. C. Reynolds, of Wellington, is one of four New Zealanders who have ■ established what may well be a record for the R.A.F. They have flown on 47 raids together, and are still going strong. They first met at an operational training unit in October, 1941, and joined the 75 (New Zealand) Squadron in May, 1942. They did 30 raids and .then became instructors, but later returned to operations, forming a new crew. They have now carried out 17 raids of their second tour of operations, which started with the Battle of the Ruhr, and have been to Hamburg, Essen, Berlin and Milan thrice. Their plane is named "Thomas Frederick Duck." ___„_______ MIRAMAR FLOWER SHOW. The Miramar Horticultural Society's spring show, to be held on Saturday in the Miramar South School, will be officially opened at 3 p.m. An amendment is to be made in the agreement between the Lower Hutt City Council and the Hutt Tennis Club, to enable the club to allow visiting servicemen to use its courts.
