■JUNCTION WIPED OUT COMMUNICATIONS IN ITALY (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) Rec. 1.50 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 13. Reuters ■ Algiers correspondent says that Wellington bombers of the R.A.F. on Saturday night wiped out the important Castelnuovo railway junction, east of Naples. This is a heavy blow to the enemy, as the junction was one of the main points through which the . Germans were able to move reinforcements for counter-attacks against the Salerno invasion force. . The German news agency claimed tonight, that the Fifth Army had suf- ■ fered a big reverse in the Salerno ibattle, and asserted that at least one American division had been , wiped out, that over 2000 Americans had been •taken prisoner, and more than 60 tanks captured. A German High Command communique states that the disarming of the Badoglio army has been completed and that on the whole the number of disarmed soldiers exceeds half a mil- , lion. It adds: "A growing number of ' units of the Italian army, particularly formations of the Fascist militia, in . Italy, southern France, and the Balkans, have declared their willingness to continue to fight on the German side. The.entire eastern coast of the Adriatic,., including Pola Harbour, is now in German, hands."
