The appointment ■ of Major-General Davenport Johnson to command the Eleventh Army Air Force in the Alaskan area is believed to presage an intensive air campaign against the Japanese bases in Paramushiru and other north Pacific possessions. MajorGeneral Johnson is an outstanding expert in long-range bombing.
