"I believe the pressure of money on investment will automatically reduce the rate of interest," said the leader of the National Party (Mr. •• Holland) in his address tonight at His Majesty's Theatre, when discussing, the housing policy of his party. He was'hopeful that there would be a fall in the rate of interest for housing. The suggestion had been made for political purposes that under its policy of freehold .for State tenants the National Party would .put the present tenants out of their State houses, continued Mr. Holland. The party would do nothing of the kind, but would give the option of purchase of homes to the present tenants at weekly payments not exceeding their existing rentals. .. ■•*.
