INTERCESSION MEETING

i Sir, —I am writing these few lines as an appeal to all Christians in Wellington to remind them of the meeting for prayer and intercession on behalf of our nation held in the Baptist Church, Boulcott Street, every Wednesday from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m. For the size of our city' the interest is far from what it might be. The number who have consistently come even in this stormy weather is a cause for thanksgiving to God. Would it not be possible in the lunch-hour for others to come if only for 10 minutes, and in deep humility arid confession of past failure, call upon Almighty God for the war to be brought to a speedy end? Already we see signs that encourage us to pray without ceasing. We thank God that our fair land has been spared the ravages of war so far. Some of the soldiers writing to us from- the war area are asking us to, pray and continue praying. Our King, our country, bur soldiers, airmen, and Navy need our prayers. The times ahead of us are critical. I appeal to all citizens to come along and join in.— I am, etc., JOHN SMITH.
