UNTAXED PAY Sir, —Some time ago reference was made to the fact that high-salaried service personnel stationed in New Zealand (and not at all likely to go overseas) did not have to pay income tax. There are many men on the temporary staff of the services who are much better off financially, than they were in their civil occupations. Why, then, do they not have to pay social and national security tax the same as other civilians? Are not these men making money out of the war?
