LAVAL'S EVIL DAY
COLLABORATION FAILS
i LONDON, July 12. M. Laval, broadcasting to former war prisoners,, admitted the failure of his policy of collaboration with Hitler. "I felt that France was saved at Montoire," he said, "when I signed an agreement with Hitler, but subsequent ly practically everything has been lost. I had a feeling during the interview with Hitler that I had achieved immense success for France, but on an evil day I again came up against Britain. I have been described as fanatically opposed to Britain. lam a Frenchman, and love only my country."
