PRAYER. In a letter addressed to his Eminence Cardinal Maglioue. Vatican Secretary of State, his Holiness Pope Pius Xll invites the bishops of! the Catholic world to call on their people, again as in preceding years to make May a month of special prayer for the needs of humanity and the attainment of a just peace. His Holiness especially addresses his plea to the children of the world that their prayers may powerfully further the granting of the intentions of which he speaks. He recalls again that the present struggle is the consequence of man's rejection of the divine- guidance and teachings, and once more exhorts a return to religion and honesty of life. It is reported from Cairo that the Premier of Irak, General Nuri es Said, has accepted an invitation by the Egyptian Premier, Nnhas Pasha, to visit Egypt to discuss plans for the establishment of an Arab federation. Preliminary calculations by the Canadian Bureau of Statistics show that the physical volume of business in March reached a higher point than at any other time in Canadian industrial history.
