I American Red Cross Dances. The American Red Cross announces that there has been a change in the date of its dances, which are usually held in St. Francis Hall each Friday. For the next two weeks the dances will be held on Thursday January 28 and February' 4, after which the Friday night schedules will be resumed. These dances are from 8.30 p.m. till 11. u 0 p.m., and admission is free to any Allied Serviceman. Anonymous Donor. An anonymous donor provided the soldiers' tea at the V.M.C.A. on Sunday, when members of the V.M.C.A. Girls' Auxiliary were the hostesses. Mr. R. H. Nimmo was chairman and Mrs. Pennq was a special'guest. Those who contributed to the concert programme were Mrs. Aspey, Mrs. Downer, Mrs. Hall, Misses Winifred Kindred, Una Weller, Finlay, Withers, and Messrs. Izett, Hindle, and Mann. National Club Hospitality. The National Club is becoming increasingly popular as a rendezvous for men of the Services on leave in the city. Last weekend Mrs. H. J. Mcllroy was the convener of the Wellington South electorate . committee members who were on duty on Sunday as hostesses, and Misses Betty McLaren and Pat Hogg were In charge of the Saturday night tea dance. The previous weekend ladies of the Wellington North electorate, with Miss M. MacGregor as convener, were the Sunday hostesses and Misses Bobbie Gibbons and Ailsa Martin were the hostesses at the Saturday tea dance. The tea dance hostesses are always National Union members. The club recently received very acceptable gifts of vegetables from Lower Hutt and Petone and the Aitken Street gardens of the W.W.S A and from Mrs. I. Spiller, of Paraparaumu. A gift of pork was also gratefully received.
