MAORI GIRL'S DEATH
MOTOR DRIVER HELD UNDER
A CHARGE
(P.A.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. In their investigation into the death of Alice Takarua at Foxton the police are not excluding the possibility that the girl fell or jumped from a car. In the Magistrate's Court James Trevor Morgan, motor driver, aged 28, was charged with breaking and entering the premises of Jolly and Mills and stealing the car from which the injured girl was removed at Motuiti. He was remanded for a week, SeniorDetective Meiklejohn stating that there was a possibility of a more serious charge being preferred against him.
