ANSWER NEEDED SOON

(Rec. 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 22. : It would take all the strength and ingenuity of the United Nations to defeat the U-boat campaign, said Admiral Sir Percy Noble, Commander-in-Chief of the Western Approaches of Britain, at a Press conference. Unless the submarine menace was overcome Britain might lose her sea power. The menace was so grievous that we must find the answer within the next few months. The only answer was escort ships, more escort ships, and still more escort ships. "I believe the anwer will be found in London," he said.
