LABOUR DAY SPORTS
Postponed from last Monday because of the weather, the annual Labour Day sports gathering was held at Wakefield Park today, and although it was overcast with a cold breeze at the start of the morning programme, the weather improved as the day wore on and it was line for the principal events this afternoon. The morning was devoted to juvenile races and competitions, the more important athletic sports and the Highland dancing being set down for this afternoon.
