A.S.O.D. CONCERT
SICK AND WOUNDED FUND
The annual scholarship of the Australasian Society of Operatic Dancing was held at the Technical College Hall recently. The adjudicator was Miss Kathleen Danetree, examiner for the Royal Academy of Dancing, London. A concert was given in the evening by members of the association, and the junior and senior sections were finalised. Mr. Ralph Wilken was the winner of the senior section and Miss Ngaire Harrison runner-up. Miss Valeric Holder won the junior section; Miss Beverley Gruar was runnerup. Two items were given by the winners of the 1941 scholarships, Mr. Alex Grant and Miss Joy Smith. Ballets were arranged by Misses Jeane Home, Dorothy Daniels, Gwen Gibbs, Phyllis Oliver, Kathleen Bartosh, Jean Scott, and Margaret Oates. The guest of honour, Lady Elliott, was met by the president, Miss Jeane Home, and was presented with a cheque for £20 for the sick and wounded soldiers' relief fund.
