KNITTERS NEEDED
APPEAL TO OLDER WOMEN
More knitters are. required by Air Force Relations. Now that so many of the younger women are doing war work, others will need to knit twice as hard if supplies are to be kept up. It has been found in the past that less knitting has been done in the summer months, and the committee is anxious that this should not happen again, as it would be an enormous help to build up a reserve stock for winter time, when all the stations in New Zealand are demanding large numbers of every garment; and during the New Zealand summer it is necessary to continue sending things to England for the cold weather there.
During the three years that Air Force Relations has been in. existence about 27,0361b of wool have been knitted up into over 85,000 garments and these have been distributed to the various stations and issued to the men. There are no doubt many women who will consider it a privilege to help maintain this fine record.
