Up to last night the contributions to the secpnej Liberty Loan from the various districts throughout the Dominion were as under, the total being £5,140,900:— Auckland, ■ £1,020,510; Blenheim, £20,120; Christchurch, £189,460; Dimedin, £305,710; Gisborne, £,53,020; Greymouth, £9840; Hamilton, £71,875; Invercargill, £104,300; Napier, £77,390; Nelson, £43,150; v New Plymouth, £68,560; ' Oamaru, £16,670; Thames, £30,740; Palmerston North, £99,285; Timaru, £63,560; Wanganui, £39,550; Wellington, £625,990; Westport. £1080; national institutions, £2,300,000.
Investments made in Wellington yesterday amounted to £24,990. Today's contributions are as follows: —Thos. Borthwick and Sons (A'asia), Ltd., £50,000; William Cable and Co., Ltd., £3000; Metropolitan Permanent Building Society, £500; Samuels and Kelly, Ltd., £500. ; A window of pictures in the P.I.C. building on Lambton Quay showing various phases of Russia's war effort is attracting considerable attention. This is the first time they have been shown in New Zealand.
A performance of popular numbers by a military band at Liberty Corner during the lunch - interval ' was a feature of today's effort in the campaign for investments.
