PLIMMERTON E.P.S. TRIAL

Last weekend an E.P.S. trial was Aeld in Plimmerton. The whole organisation was in action, and a thorough test of the various units was made. At 9 a.m. controllers of units ana zone wardens were given an alert signal by means of telephone supplemented by runners. , At 1.30 p.m. the chairman of the executive was informed that enemy action was expected at 2 p.m. He declared that a state of emergency existed in Plimmerton. The chief warden was informed of this and the whole organisation was brought into action by the sounding of the alarm signal. By 1.50 p.m. all stations were fully manned. Enemy action commenced at 2 p.m. and ceased at 2.5 p.m., leaving behind some dozen casualties, three; fires, and some damage to roads and bridges. These were all handled with promptitude and efficiency.
