TREE PLANTING
An application was recently made to the Wellington Beautifying Society for some trees to plant *on public property in front of a private house. A member objected to granting trees for this purpose, but the committee decided that requests such as this should be acceded to, the only stipulation being that the place selected should be suitable for growing trees. La*b6ur to plant trees and look after them is a considerable difficulty to the society, and citizens can do a lot to beautify their localities by undertaking this' work themselves.x
