PACIFIST'S CASE
Decision has been reserved by the Court of Appeal on points of law arising from the trial of Archibald Charles Barrington, secretary of the New Zealand Pacifist Society, on charges of publishing a subversive statement and attempting to publish a subversive statement (a bulletin of the society). The jury failed to agree at the first trial, but at a new trial Barrington was found guilty on the second count.
