SHIPS SUNK OFF AFRICA
(Rec. 2 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, June 10. The three freighters reported as sunk off the African coast were torpedoed in the Mozambique Channel. They were respectively British, Czech, and Greek ships. A rescue plane sighted a submarine, which was not identified, but is presumed to have been Japanese. I
Twenty survivors from the Czech boat were picked up, but no survivors from the other ships have yet been found. >
