(By .Tplesrapfi— Frm AS9°cteii°n-*Ciwriojit,) (Special Australian Correspondent,) SYDNEY, June 9. An appeal for more inventions for the Army has been made by the Army Minister, Mr, F. M. Forde. Though th£ new Army inventions directorate had received nearly 1300 submissions, numbers of which had proved most useful, he said more ideas were wanted. The Minister announced that a new typo of land-mine was being manufactured for the Army. The mine, which is on the secret list, has been invented by Mr. L. R. Gleadall, a Brisbane commercial traveller, who served with the first AJ.F. in Gallipoli and France. He has submitted several ideas for inventions, some of which have been used.
