LINEN FLAX EXPERT

The Acting Australian Trade Commissioner, Mr. J. L. Menzies, states that Mr. J. A. Stevenson, chairman of the Flax Production Committee in Australia, is visiting New Zealand to confer with linen flax authorities. Mr. Stevenson has a wide knowledge .of agricultural activities generally in Australia, and has been associated with the linen flax enterprise in Australia since the appeal was made by the British Government for increased linen flax production to meet loss of supplies from the usual European sources: Mr. Stevenson is accompanied by his chief engineer, Mr. L. A. Hayes, who was formerly employed by a wellknown Australian company operating sugar mills in Queensland.
